  1. Hey Paolo,

Amazing work, thanks for always sharing your process! I was curious what type of scanner and printer you were using to be able to print your blue line pencils on 500 series bristol board? I know I remember seeing a printer and scanner post from you a while back in the past, but wasn't sure if you were using different tools since then? Thanks!

    1. Thanks! My latest printer is an Epson P400, which can even print on illustration board. My scanner is still an Epson GT-20000 from 2009. But my dad has a cheap Brother printer/scanner from 2011 that is still good enough to print on 2-ply bristol.

    2. Thanks Paolo, I really appreciate it man! You are one of the most generous artists I've seen online, I know a lot of us are grateful for that.

  2. Hey Paolo,

Had another question if you don't mind... Based on your blog entries I see that you will start a painting in the computer and sometimes print your digital paintings out and finish them traditionally. To keep your colors accurate, do you calibrate your monitors doing anything special in particular? I saw the Spyder Pro Calibrator and wasn't sure if you had any experience with that at all, or do you use other software? Thanks man!

    1. I've never used any special tool to calibrate, just used the standard procedure on my iMac (under Display Settings). The color studies I do are just a guide, though — they often change once I get into real paint.
