MUTE Poster

MUTE. 2018. Photoshop, 24 × 36″ @300ppi.

Who says Twitter doesn't get you work? Duncan Jones contacted me last year about commissioning a poster for his newest movie, MUTE, which debuts on Netflix next week (February 23rd). Even though the movie is set in a futuristic Berlin, we are both fans of classic movie posters, and thus went for something with a 1940s vibe.

A huge thanks goes out to Netflix for giving me access to the movie, stills, and marketing photography, without which there would be no poster. Also my wife, who slaps my trackpad hand when I try to use bad typefaces.

And, of course, Duncan, who I was already a fan of, and now, even moreso. MUTE is awesome, and totally messed up in the best possible way. I hope you'll see it (and I hope to share more of the process behind the poster soon).
