ASM 639 Preview

There's a preview of Amazing Spider-Man #639 at The book comes out next week, so be sure to pick it up. As for me, I'm blogging from San Francisco, and should be in Florida by tomorrow night. The trip's been awesome so far. I'll have to share some of the highlights after I get back. Have a great weekend!

Useful Reference Wednesday

Sorry, folks, no Wacky Reference today—too much to do! I leave tomorrow for Comic-Con and figure I'd better post all the pertinent information for my trip.

I will be at the Splashpage booth (4400-4406 near Lobby F) for the majority of the time, signing books and painting watercolor head sketches for $80. I don't have a set schedule as of yet, but I'll post it if we can hammer one out (using my brand-spanking new iPad!!!!)

Saturday: You can find me signing with my collaborator (and boss), Joe Quesada, at the Marvel Booth (#2329) from 3-4 PM.

Sunday: I've been invited to sit on the Marvel's Spider-Man Panel, 12:45 - 1:45 PM in Room 6A.

Monday: In case you missed me (and live in LA) I'll be signing at The Secret Headquarters from 7-9.

Tuesday: Vacation—I need it. Heading to San Francisco, then home to Florida, so you may not hear from me until August. In the meantime, please pick up One Moment in Time, the first issue of which comes out today. I'll leave you with a page from the third issue, which my editor recently posted.

Thanks for reading. I'll be back in 2 weeks!

The bird's the word... and the first issue of One Moment in Time comes out next Wednesday! You can see a short, lettered preview at Newsarama.

It's crunch time now—gotta finish the last issue before I leave for San Diego. I'll be sure to post my appearance/signing schedule before I leave. Have a great weekend!

Chester Phillips

Mythos: Captain America, Page 5, Panels 4-7. 2008.
Gouache and acrylic on bristol board, 11 x 17". Original Art

Marvel recently announced that Tommy Lee Jones has been cast as Colonel Phillips, the recruiter who convinces Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, to volunteer for the Super Soldier Project. I was happy to see that they used my artwork to accompany the article. I should note, however, that in our version Phillips was a 3-star general.
