Here are a few of my past charcoals if you are interested...
http://ddsketchbook.blogspot.com/search/label/Charcoalsthedavehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09957402211706494022noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8959702978311327862.post-70411235013425250502010-09-23T22:24:31.989-07:002010-09-23T22:24:31.989-07:00The weird side effects are what I'm going for....The weird side effects are what I'm going for. The slightest change can make a huge difference, especially when rendering skin tones. Things like mass tone and undertone play a significant role in color, and that is modulated in large part by paint consistency.

Despite all that, many of the benefits were lost on me this past session because I had forgotten my palette knife. Mixing by brush tends towards a uniform consistency, no matter the medium.Paolo Riverahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11088106827920011644noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8959702978311327862.post-56402425164238606982010-09-23T21:09:36.975-07:002010-09-23T21:09:36.975-07:00Awesome study.

I know they're practically one and the same, so it'd seem like there wouldn't be much benefit to it beyond maybe some added color saturation with some increased flow.Andrewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18262476114387821096noreply@blogger.com
