At the Printers

The Spectrum 17 poster is at the printer and should be in the mail later this month. The image above is my first crack at the concept. Also, Spectrum 16 should be out next month.

In other news, I leave today for Savannah, GA to participate in the Comic Art Forum at SCAD. The event is closed to the public, but I'll try to share some pics when I get back. I'll be doing 2 workshops, portfolio reviews, and a discussion panel. Having gone in 2006, I'm really excited about returning.

  1. I've slowly read through your entire blog over the last couple of months and now I've finally reached the latest posts. I'll keep reading, of course, but I just thought I should say thank you now. I took up drawing not too long up and I've found it very helpful and motivating seeing the many posts you do about how your work comes together and whatnot, it's really been enlightening, so thank you for all of it. It's all been very entertaining reading in general, too, I must say.

  2. Be sure you check out Brandon Graham's workshop if you can. It's sure to be interesting.

  3. Ah, enjoy SCAD, Paolo. I can't remember when you and Kikuo were down there last, but I remember taking his workshop (back before I graduated from SCAD, of course.) Great guy, a lot of fun.

It seems like there's a great list of people this year!

  4. Have fun in Savannah, Paolo. If you run into The Hubs' bro, tell him we said hi. Oh, and be sure to fill up on Shrimp and Grits!

  5. Scott, thank you so much for the kind words (and the sheer will to read the archives).

Neil, unfortunately, the guests don't have a chance to take each other's workshops, however I really enjoyed meeting Brandon over the weekend and am looking forward to seeing more of his work.

Drew, that was waaaay back in 2006. Kikuo is a lot of fun (and not a bad roommate).

Christina, I had no idea Travis's bro was at SCAD. If I met him, I had no idea. Despite the lack of shrimp and grits, I had a great weekend.

  7. It was truly my pleasure, Jeremy. I'll keep coming as long as SCAD still wants me. Best of luck with the rest of your studies.
