I'm still on vacation (hopefully... I'm blogging from the past right now).

Here are a couple of details from Mythos: X-Men — my more painterly days.

  3. Mannnn.. those brushstrokes rule. Seriously.

The hands remind me of some Eakins work, all you need is a distinguished looking man playing an oboe :)

    ..or Magneto playing one.

  5. I just love how you paint lighting!! It's just beautiful. I have trouble with painting different lighting conditions.. morning light, afternoon, artificial light.. fluorescent etc.. Do you have any suggestions for how I can improve??

  6. Anonymous, the best strategy is to just paint from life. If and when you see a lighting situation that you like, try to copy it. The more you do it, the more you'll understand the mechanics of it. Beyond that, color studies are the way to go. You can say a great deal with just a few choice colors.
